BAI President Himanta Sarma has confirmed that senior Indian shuttlers including🧸 Saina Nehwal, P V Sindhu, and Kidambi Srikanth would take part in the National Championship in November. Sarma also awarded cheques to Sindhu and Saina for their performance at the Glasgow World Championships.

Due to international commitments, very rarely do senior Indian players take part in National Championships. On the back of an exceptional last few months, where Srikanth won back to back Superseries titles and Sindhu and Saina won a medal apiece at the World Championships, it appears that BAI want to improve the quality of the National 𓆏event as well.

“I am happy to share with you that after many years, you will see entire senior players playing n🍷ationals in Nagpur. So I presume that will be considered a very good beginning for Badminton in India,” Sarma told reporters in Nagpur, reported PTI.

“Apart from our commitments, Super Series, World Cup, whatever, along with that, let’s also build our national as a very good product.”

Recently, Ashwini Ponnappa had questioned the lack of young doubles' players in thꩲe team. Along with that, Sports Authority of India (SAI) had suggested that a dedicated doubles camp in Delhi could help develop the team event as well.

“But, it doesn’t mean that the doubles camp which is running at present in Gopi’s Academy, that will be shifted. Hyderabad or Gopi’s Academy will remain epicentre and there is no confusion on that….. Gopi will rem🐽ain the chief coach,” he said.

“It is complete𒐪ly up to the players, wherever they find comfortable, they can go. The special doubles coach, who is training the Indian doubles players will continue.”

Shoaib Mal🉐ik or Johnson Charles? Who will score more runs?
