Despite 600 names registering for the upcoming BBL and WBBL season, Rashid’s absence came as a surprise for many. With 98 scalps from 69 games, the Afghan spinner🌠 holds the record for mos🐟t wickets from overseas players in the BBL.
Previously, Rashid threatened to boycott playing in the BBL due to Australia’s refu♊sal to play against Afghanistan. The Kangaroos canceled a T20I series against the Atalans scheduled for August 2024. They had also called off a one-off Test and an ODI series last year.
However, Cricket Australia quit such remarks from the Afghan seꦇnsa🌺tion and cited workload management for a busy schedule.
"AAP has also been told the organization has no issue with Rashid’s views and woul💃d welcome the Afghan spinner back to the competition next summer," a report from Australia Associated Press read.
While the league witnes꧋sed several top players such as Lockie Ferguson, Shamar Joseph, Alex Hales, Colin Munro register for the draft, Rashid’s continuous absence became the talking point in the crickeꩵt universe.
The BBL draft is scheduled to take place on September 1 w🌌ith Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers being the only two teams to avoid multi-year contract pre-draft signings.
