India struggled to post 180 runs on the board during the first innings, thanks to Shubman Gill and KL Rahul’s 69-run stand followed by Nitish Kumar Reddy’s late blitz with the bat. With Mitchell Starc picking up a six-wicket haul with the pink cherry, the Indian bowlers anticipated a similar favour off the conditions in the second innings.
