India secured a seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the second T20I at Kandy. Batting first, Sri Lanka had a promising start with Kusal Perera scorin💛g a half-century, but their innings faltered in the death overs, leaving them at 161/9 whereas India chased a rain delyed revised target with ease.

‌Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to bowl first in the second T20I at Kandy. The Indian bowlers made an early breakthrough with Arshdeep Singh dismissing Kusal Mendis in the fourth over. Kusal Perera and Pathum Nissanka then formed a solid partnership, adding 54 runs and taking Sri Lanka to 77/1 in nine overs. However, Ravi Bishnoi broke the partnership by dismissing Nissanka for 32 off 24 balls. Perera continued to score quickly reaching his half-century in just 31 balls. Sri Lanka appeared to be on track for a high total at 123/2 in 14 overs, but a sudden collapse saw them lose four wickets within four overs, eventually finishing at 161/9 on a pitch that seemed conducive to a 190-200 score.

In response, India's chase started brightly with Yashasvi Jaiswal hitting a boundary in the first over. However, the match was interrupted by heavy rain for 1 hour and 10 minutes. When play resumed, India was set a revised target of 78 runs in eight overs. The wet conditions seemed to favour Sri Lankan bowler Maheesh Theekshana, who dismissed Sanju Samson in the second over. Despite this setback, Jaiswal and Suryakumar Yadav put together a quick 33-run partnership, taking India to 45/1 after four overs. Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed for 26 off 12 balls by Matheesha Pathirana in the fifth over. With 24 runs needed from the last three overs, Jaiswal departed in the sixth over after scoring a well-played 30 off 15 balls. India even🍸tually secured victory by seven wickets, taking a 2-0 lead in the series.
