With the Super Eight heating up and each match gaining importance, England faced the USA in a crucial encounter at Barbados. English skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to field first. USA had a rocky start when Reece Topley dismissed the in-form Andries Gous in the first over. However, Nitish Kumar and Steven Taylor steadied the innings with a 34-run stand, bringing the score to 39/1 in five overs. But Sam Curran's slower delivery in the sixth over got rid of Taylor. Adil Rashid then struck twice, removing skipper Aaron Jones in the ninth over and Nitish Kumar in the 11th over, leaving the score at 67/4. Milind Kumar's dismissal in the 14th over further pressured the USA side. Corey Anderson and Harmeet Singh attempted to revive the innings, taking the score to 101/5 by the 17th over, aiming for a respectable total. Harmeet's cameo of 21 runs off 17 deliveries was halted by Curran in the 18th over. In the 19th over, Chris Jordan's brilliance shone through as he dismissed Anderson and Ali Khan, continuing his stellar form by completing a hat-trick and bundling out the USA for 115 runs.

In reply, England openers Jos Buttler and Phil Salt started with a bang racing to 60/0 within the powerplay. Determined to finish the match swif🤡tly, Buttler reached his fifty off just 32 balls, propelling the score to 110/0 by the ninth over. Displaying exceptional form, ꦗButtler sealed the victory in just 9.4 overs, leading England to a dominant 10-wicket win. With this emphatic victory, England secured their spot in the semi-finals of the ICC World T20 2024.
