‌CSK vs RCB | Twitter emotional as Dhoni clobbers 110 meters ‘farewell’ six in Yellow Jersey

Adios are mostly emotional, and so it can turn out to be for MS Dhoni in the Yellow Jersey as RCB eliminated CSK in a virtual knockout game in IPL 2024 on Saturday. The int🌱ense clash saw a final six off Dhoni in the IPL as the ball flew off the top edge for a 110-meter six at the Chinnaswamy.

Winning the toss and electing to field first did not work out well for Ruturaj Gaikwad and co. as their bowlers spilled 218 runs in 20 overs amidst a rain break. The chase did not begin smoothly for the visitors but a 66-run partnership between Ajinkya Rahane and Rachin Ravindra eased the stage but RCB bowlers pegged back during the middle and slog overs phase. Despite the equation getting tricky, Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja’s resilient act kept the audience at the edge of their seats with the former’s gigantic six stealing the spotlight.

With 17 required from the last over for qualification, Yash Dayal bowled a full-toss at the leg stump that Dhoni slogged across the line. The 42-year-old ended up incurring a top edge but the swing of the blade was so hard that the ball ended up flying over the fine leg region and thudding the upper tier at the venue. ༺As Dayal had the last laugh in the contest by outwitting Dhoni in the next ball, the Twitterverse realised that it could potentially turn out to be the farewell biggie from the former CSK skipper in the Yellow jersey.
