Kontas starred again in the second innings, pushing New South Wales to 282/6 before declaring. South Australia responded with centuries from Nathan McSweeny and Alex Carey, guiding them to 309/5.

A key moment in South Australia's second innings came when Nathan Lyon bowled a stunning delivery to dismiss Travis Head. In the 16th over, Lyon came around the wicket and bowled a sharp off-break. Upon landing, the ball spun sharply away from Head. The sharp turn made🐼 it difficult for Head to gauge the trajectory, and the ball deviated significantly, beating his bat as it rushed toward the stumps.
