PAK One Day Cup | Twitter reacts to Faisal Iqbal down on knees as fielders recreate Ajmal and Malik’s fielding horror

𝔉From the invention of computers to the rise of the internet and the looming AI revolution, one constant remains despite all advancements: Pakistan’s fielding struggles. Once again, fielding horror resurfaced during the Pakistan One Day Cup’s fifth match, echoing a familiar blunder.

‌In the clash of the Nurpur Lions and the Lake City Panthers, the latter won the coin flip and elected to bat first. However, the decision didn’t pan out well for their top and middle order batters as Aamer Yameen, Shaheen Afridi, and Siraj Uddin wreaked havoc on the opposition before Mubasir Khan and Haider Ali eased the situation with a 144-run six-wicket stand. However, the journey to the mammoth stand was assisted by the Panthers’ fielding blunder, echoing their past errors.

ওThe first ball of the 21st over saw Faisal Akram come over the wicket and bowl a tossed-up delivery outside the stumps that Mubasir tried to heave by sitting on his knees. Although the ball came off the top-edge of the willow, the ball traversed past the ropes, earning him a four. However, there were a couple of fielders converging from deep mid wicket and long on with the latter being in a catching position. The long-on fielder ended up misjudging the ball in the air and as it bounced inside the ropes, he also made a failed effort to pat it inside the rope. The whole incident resonated with Pakistan’s iconic fielding blunder with Shoaib Malik and Saeed Ajmal involved, leaving the Twitterverse in splits.

Scenes repeat!

And it continues!

Funny!

This is never ending love story!

Beacuse they are born for it!

Legends at their best!

Hahaha!
