Brief Scores: IND: 339/6 (80) [Ashwin: 102*, Jadeja: 86*; Hasan: 4/58]
Luck d♉idn’t quite favor the Indian contingent as they geared up for the first of their remaining ten Tests of the World Test Championship. Having fielded first, the precision of Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud yielded the visitors' favorable results as Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, 📖and Virat Kohli fell prey to the early lateral movement under the overhead conditions of Chennai. With India at 34/3, the management pushed Rishabh Pant ahead of KL Rahul at No. 5, and the ploy turned out fruitful until Lunch. The pair countered the pacers with attacking drives and smooth flicks for the last hour of the morning session, adding 54 runs together with India’s score reading 84/3 in 23 overs.
The lateral movement died down as t🍌he second session kicked off but the tight lines from Hasan Mahmud got th✱e better of Rishabh Pant for 39 to claim his four-for. In KL Rahul’s presence, Jaiswal raced to a fifty in 95 balls, stitching the innings to keep India moving despite the setbacks. Rahul looked careful in his approach against the spinners but eventually fell for 16, off a loose shot at short leg, four balls after Jaiswal was outdone by Nahid Rana’s hit the deck stuff. With the balance shifting towards Bangladesh, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja executed some courageous strokes to add 32 runs in 34 balls before Tea.
The all-round pair resumed the third session from where they started as the partnership grew to fifty in no time. The 200 runs mark came up quick for the Men in Blue before Ashwin raced to his fifty. Eventually, the pair stretched to a 100-run partnership leading India to the 250 runs mark in the 62nd over. While there were some roughs being created, the spinners failed to hit the right areas while the pacers were negated with ease by the right and left-hand combo. As the session extended by half an hour due to slow over rate, Ashwin and Jadeja hit the 1♏50-run stand for the seventh wicket. The assault continued with the local boy getting to his century while Jadeja remained unbridled at 86 with India at 339/6 at Stumps.
This is hilarious

Superb
What a partner▨ship between Ashwin and Jadeja. Ashwin getting his 6th test hundred is a very special achievement.
— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag)
True
India showing once again why they are such a difficult team to play against in home conditions. Ashwin and Jadeja have 6000+ runs and 800+ wickets between them. Such a combination is available very very ra🌟rely in test cricket.

Exactly
Th𒁃e way we started today, I had expected Ashwin and Jadeja leadi🔯ng us in the walk back at stumps, but with ball in hand.
