Former captain and all-rounder of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Teꦏam, Rishi Dhawan has announced his retirement from the limited format of the game.𒈔 Following his state team’s final match in the Vijay Hazare Trophy league stages, he took it to social media and called it a day from the shorter format.

Dhawan has featured in four games for India, all in 2016. He picked a couple of wickeꦑts from three ODIs against Australia and a lone T20I against Zimbabwe. The three-dimensional cricketer has also played considerable games in the Indian Premier League, having donned the hats for Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, and the Kolkata Knight Riders. He has bagged 25 wickets in 39⭕ games at an economy of 8.07. However, he failed to attract any bids during the recent IPL mega auction.

"It's with a heavy heart, even though I have no regrets, that I'd like to announce my retirement from Indian cricket (Limited over). It's a sport that has defined my life for the past 20 y♏ears. This game has given me immeasurable joy and countless memories that would always stay very close to my🍷 heart," Dhawan’s post read.

It clearly mentioned about the retir♊ement from⛄ the limited format, which means Dhawan must be participating in the second phase of the Ranji Trophy, which resumes after the VHT’s conclusion.

"From humble beginnings to representing my nation on the grandest stages, it has been a privilege beyond measure. Cricket has been my passion, and my reason for waking up every morning. I would like to thank all of my coaches, mentors, teammates, and support staff for the valuable contributions you have made to shaping me into the person I am today,” the🐠 post further added.

Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh have failed to qualify ಞfor the pre-quarter final stages of VHT, having finished fifth in the Group B league table with four wins and three losses.
