Ravichandran Ashwin scheduled to play six games for Nottinghamshire County
Raź¦vichandran Ashwin has been cleared to play six matches for Nottinghamshire County as part of preparation for the inaugural World Test Championship against West Indies. Earlier, Ajinkya Rahane penned a deal with Hampshire while Cheteshwar Pujara will represent Yorkshire in the County Championship.
Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin will board the flight to Enš”gland for a six-match spell with County cricket side - Nottinghamshire. The Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin has started his preparationsĀ for the inaugural World Test Championship. Ashwin will pź©µlay alongside premier England fast-bowler Stuart Broad.
"Yes, Ashwin will bź¦e playing for the Notts this season. The CoA had already made it clear that any centrally contracted cricketer will have automatic šrights to play County cricket if that player gets an offer. Ashwin's deal is almost final and only the CEO needs to sign his NoC," a senior BCCI told PTI sources.
This will be Ashwin's second stint in the English domestic circuit, having played four šgaš§mes for Worcestershire during the 2017 season, the 32-year old picked up 20 scalpsĀ andĀ also scored 214 runs with the bat. Earlier, Indian Test teamās vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane had also penned a deal with County cricket side - Hampshire.Ā
For now, Rahane, Ashwin and Cheteshwar Pujaraš (Yorkshire County team) wiš ll play county cricket in England in the coming months. Pacers - Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma - are also rumored to be in talks with other County teams may also feature in a few games.
