Reports | Nicolas Otamendi set to stay at Manchester City
Manchester City star Nicolas Otamendi is set to stay at the club despite rumors linking him with a move away from the Etihad Stadium. The Argentine does have three years left on his current deal with the club and having already lost Vincent Kompany, this will be a big boost fđŠ©or Pep Guardiola.
Nicolas Otamendi has been at Manchester City for the last đ§žfour years makđČing a total of 112 appearances in the Premier League and has helped the club win two league titles. However, the Argentine has fallen out of favour last season with the arrival of Aymeric Laporte, making only 14 appearances.
However, with the departure of Kompany, it has also left a hole in Manchester Cityâs backline before the startđŠ of the upcoming season. But the English outfit have not signed anyone as a replacement, as of yet, with Pep Guardiola seemingly ready to convert Fernandinho intođ§ a center-back.
The 33-year-old has operated there last season and did relatively well. But now the Sun has reported that Nicolas Otamendi is set to stay, rejecting interest from elsewhere. Heâs been linked with a move to La Liga, with clubs guaranteeing him regular plaâying time and West Ham, but no formal offer has been submitted for the defender.Â
