ENG vs AUS | Twitter reacts to bemused Phil Salt emphatically outdone by debutant Ben Dwarshuis

You never forget your firsts and it would be no different for Ben Dwarshuis given the way in which he earned his maiden ODI scalp. The quick crashed through to Phil Salt's stumps with a ball that zipped through and caught the English opener completely off-guard, leading to an amusing reaction.

England got off to a typical breezy start in the first ODI against Australia at🤡 Trent Bridge after stand-in skipper Harry Brook won the toss and elected to bat first. Both teams fielded young lineups, plagued by injuries and the work schedule, which meant a debut for left-arm quick Ben Dwarshuis in the format having previously played three T20Is. The left -arm quick had a relatively quiet start to his ODI career but soon turned up the heat to dispatch the dangerous Phil Salt in his fourth over, much to the surprise of the veteran opener.

Batting on a less than run-a-ball 17, Salt sought to relieve the pressure by opening up his stance and creating room by shuffling down the leg. However, ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚDwarshuis anticipated the tactic and came in from  wide angle o🦩ver the stump to land the Kookaburra on middle and leg. Before Salt could react to the delivery, the white rock skidded through  and decimated the opener's middle stump. Salt could not believe his eyes as he stood his ground stunned before walking off while staring at the deck and asking his partner Ben Duckett for confirmation as to what actually happened.

Twitterati ꧟wad thoroughly entertained by it all and took to social media to express their emotions.
